Gracie came to our family from an English Shepherd rescue when she was about 4 months old. The moment she came to our family, she blessed us with such pure kindness and gentleness. She had careful, delicate steps and would give lovely hugs to us. When she received treats, she received them with the softest touch. She was a fantastic companion to her older housemate, Bourbon. She gave him friendship and love. They often slept near each other and played each other. She didn’t have an aggressive bone in her body. Her favorite things were her bones, frisbee, lying in the grass, hiking, and camping. Though she had a hard time making friends with other dogs, she felt most comfortable with people. Her favorite being her young owner, John, who she slept with and nuzzled. There are many memories of Gracie’s face resting on sleeping John. She was kind to all of us and genuinely wanted to make us all feel her love, which we continue to feel. I will always feel her resting her head against my chin for reassurance and gratitude. She was an honest little girl who had so much abundance of love and care for us-we will never forget her.
